Webinar Focusing on Economic Recovery in Agriculture | Agriculture
A Nebraska Extension webinar at 11:30 am on Thursday, May 13 will include a presentation on the economic recovery in American agriculture by Nathan Kauffman, director of the Omaha branch and vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
On the brink of disaster a year ago, many segments of the US farm economy have rebounded to new heights. Supported by robust global demand, reopening economies and tight supplies, prices for major U.S. crops hit their highest level in nearly a decade.
“While significant risks remain, the outlook for US agriculture in the coming months is strong,” Kauffman said.
Since 2012, Kauffman has served as a Senior Economist and Nebraska Representative for the Kansas City Fed. As the bank’s leading expert in agricultural economics, he is a leading voice in the seven states of the Federal Reserve’s Tenth District and throughout the Federal Reserve system.
The webinar is part of a weekly series produced by the Farm and Ranch Management Team in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Registration is free at https://farm.unl.edu/webinars.
