College football’s regular season is 25% over, and updated bowl projections entering Week 4 reflect the changes for teams eagerly awaiting their opportunity to throw a wrench in the SEC title races and of the Big Ten. Nationally ranked Tennessee is scoring at a record pace in Josh Heupel’s sophomore season and heading into next weekend’s game against Florida with a signing opportunity on the national stage. Penn State accomplished that feat on Saturday, obliterating Auburn on the road to remaining undefeated and moving into the final top 25 in the standings.
The Volunteers and Nittany Lions moved from top-level bowling games to New Year’s Sixes at the end of the weekend.
The toughest games on each schedule remain ahead of them, but Tennessee and Penn State each look equipped to take on several higher-ranked opponents this fall en route to title talk in November. When it comes to college football playoff hopefuls, we’re still struggling to sort out the teams competing for that No. 4 seed.
Here’s a look at the updated bowl projections for every game entering Week 4.
