Company that recycles hotels into apartment complexes expands to two new properties in the Midwest
A California company is turning hotels into apartment complexes to address oversupply of hotels and critical housing shortages for the workforce.
Vivo Living (“Vivo”) has expanded two new properties in Indiana and Nebraska as part of its nationwide efforts to convert low-demand hotels into boutique apartment complexes. Vivo apartments are available furnished or not and include unique hotel facilities (free wifi, lounge areas, swimming pool, gym, etc.). Market-priced and flexibly priced, Vivo Apartments are offered in a low to mid price range while providing a luxury living experience for middle income renters.
Vivo also uses green initiatives and sustainable systems with a triple bottom line philosophy to further minimize its environmental footprint. With locations now in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Texas, and Utah, Vivo continues to grow nationwide.
The addresses of the two new Vivo properties are as follows:
1. Vivo Bloomington (90 units): 1722 N Walnut Street, Bloomington, IN 47404
2. Vivo Omaha (136 units): 11515 Miracle Hills Dr, Omaha, NE 68154
“Vivo aims to reduce traffic, waste and urban sprawl by carefully selecting each location to be physically close to shops, markets, entertainment and other necessities. We reuse buildings rather than building from scratch. Adaptive reuse is the most environmentally friendly way to develop, we are essentially a building recycling company, ”notes Dan Norville, founder and CEO of Vivo Living.
Brett Tanimoto, CIO of Vivo Living, explained in more detail Vivo’s mission: “Because we save money on the costs that would traditionally be included in building an apartment from scratch, such as costs. labor and construction materials. We can offer Class A amenities at much lower rents than traditional apartments, making it a particularly attractive option for all tenants ”.
Based in Torrance, California, Vivo was founded in 2020 to provide flexible and luxurious apartments with all the best aspects of hotel living. Vivo is a response to the current housing crisis and the critical housing shortage for the workforce. The company specializes in converting low-demand hotels into boutique apartment complexes at market prices for tenants while reducing traffic, waste and urban sprawl.
