Chic downtown car parade
Vintage, restored and custom cars lined the streets of Memorial Park on Friday morning at the annual Nebraskaland Days auto show, then paraded downtown.
North Platte Ambassadors from the Chamber of Commerce and the Nebraskaland Days Board of Directors led the parade. Miss Rodeo America got into one of the lead vehicles, followed by Miss Rodeo Nebraska and Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska.
Sailors from the nuclear submarine USS Nebraska on shore leave marched near the front of the parade.
Families lined Dewey Street to watch the colorful cars go by and rush to buy candy.
It was one of the biggest car parades in Nebraskaland Days history, blessed with a welcome cloud cover that relieved the heat a bit.
