Bangor neighbors help take 1.5 pounds of fentanyl off the streets
Thanks to numerous complaints from neighbors, the authorities were able to arrest and indict two Bangors for trafficking in fentanyl. As part of this investigation, 1.5 pounds of fentanyl was seized.
Craig Pelkey, 53, and Sarah Denbow, 37, of Bangor, have both been charged with aggravated Class “A” trafficking of Schedule W drugs. MDEA officers from the North Center Strike Force based in Bangor, executed a warrant in the early hours of Wednesday, June 16. Officers had obtained enough information on the evening of June 15 for the search warrant to be issued. The Bangor Police Department played an important role in the investigation.
Here is some evidence and part of the story
The estimated market value of the drugs seized is $ 67,000. Craig Pelkey and Sarah Denbow both lived in an apartment on the corner of Warren and Sanford streets in Bangor. The location of the apartment is also within 300 meters of Bangor City Park and it is legally designated as a ‘drug free zone’.
Meet Sarah and Craig
If Sarah Denbow’s name sounds familiar to you, it’s because she was out on bail for an aggravated drug trafficking arrest as of 2020. The arrest for the last charge was a violation of her terms of release. . Denbow was still out on bail as there has not yet been a ruling in the case of his previous arrest.
But wait, there’s more …
Craig Pelkey and Denbow were sent to Penobscot County Jail after the arrest. Pelkey’s bond was set at $ 80,000. The press release said there may be additional arrests from this investigation.
There are a lot of people to applaud for getting deadly drugs off the streets of Bangor. First of all, the neighborhood that looked and acted well on its instincts, thank you. This is another job well done by law enforcement who took complaints and dealt with them in a professional manner. The cooperative work of citizens and law enforcement has created a safer place for children to play!
